GERA LARIO

The are a number of shops in the village and if you just wished to stay in Gera Lario, you would never really have to leave!  As well as a number of pubs/cafes, there is a pharmacy, bank (with ATM), a couple of clothing stores (designer and surfing gear!), post office and a hairdressers.

 

Bar Pace is our favourite cafe, run by Davide and his wife.  Davide speaks very good english and all the staff are helpful if you had any questions and are struggling with the language.  They also have free Wifi for customers, and the drinks come with antipasta if you visit there in the early evening.

 

Next door is Bar Sandro, which also functions as the local newspaper shop and sells tickets for the bus.

 

For breakfast, head to the bakery in the main village square and pick up some beautiful filled croissants or fresh bread.  They also have some extra sundries in here such as cold meats/milk if you have need.

 

A 10 minute walk away in the next village Sorico there is a small but reasonably well stocked supermarket.  If you have a car (or want to take the bus) a 10 minute drive away near Colico is Iperal, a large supermarket set amongst many other stores in a large shopping centre.
